I’m Matthew Branson, I’m the Company Director, Sales Rep, Installer and Office Administrator all rolled into one! I started Simply Synthetic Turf back in October 2012 as a sole trader. As the business grew strongly over the first six months I decided to register as a company in March 2013 to allow for ongoing growth.
My story began in early 2007 when I did my first year in Landscaping, back then I installed Reticulation, natural lawn and plants. After learning about Landscaping for a year, I took three years out during 2008 to 2010 to study Accounting and work as an assistant accountant at an accounting firm. Whilst I eventually decided to not pursue a career in Accounting, the experience would later come in useful.
In 2011 and 2012 I switched back to my passion – Landscaping. I initially worked as a team leader for a local synthetic turf business, before being asked to change to a subcontractor. The change to subcontractor meant buying my own vehicle and tools and employing my own workers to assist on jobs. I also began importing artificial lawn to supply for use on the jobs i was installing.
In 2013, I set out on my own and started to advertise for my own jobs. I continued to develop my grass range which now includes half Australian made and half premium imported lawns. I still buy container direct from two manufacturers, one here in Australia and one overseas.
For the future, I plan to continue to grow the company by focusing on installing premium quality artificial lawns and providing a high level of customer service.
